Anthony C. Stefanelli Nutley centenarian, proud World War II veteran, 102 Anthony C. Stefanelli, 102, of Nutley, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Relatives and friends will be received at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, on Sunday, July 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. The interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair, N.J., will be private. Born in Nutley, N.J., Mr. Stefanelli was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Gaccione) Stefanelli. He lived in Nutley for most of his life and was an accountant with Schoonover Co. in Plainfield, N.J., before retiring. He was a graduate of Rutgers University, Newark, N.J., and was also a member and past president of the Nutley Optimist Club and a member of the Forest Hill Field Club. A proud U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Anthony served for 43 months in the European Theatre during campaigns in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany, also during which he participated in five amphibious landings. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Filomena (LoCurcio) Stefanelli, and is survived by his devoted children, Carl Stefanelli and his wife, Carmel; Nelda McComb and her husband, Dennis; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves his brother, Philip Stefanelli, and his sisters, Margaret Ritacco and Alice Petroccione.
