1932 ~ 2018
Denny DeVaughn Thompson, our beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather passed away in his home surrounded by his family on July 7, 2018. Born on October 21, 1932, in Salina, Utah, to Merrill Leroy Thompson and Ruby Josephine Nielsen, he married the love of his life, Monty Gay Anderson, on March 19, 1960. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They are united once again.
Denny is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Monty Gay, and survived by his children Scott (Cami), Mike (Kristin), Denise Jones (Tracey), Brent (Michelle), 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Denny was an active member of the LDS church and served in many callings including the Bishopric, Sunday School Presidency, and as a temple worker.
He honorably served in the Air Force for four years.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 19 from 6PM to 8PM at the LDS chapel at 3900 S 4000 W in West Valley City, UT. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 20 at 11:00 AM with a viewing one hour prior at the same location.
