BREELAND, A. L. (Lyn) Lyn was born in Dallas, Texas on October 14, 1927 and lived there until his death on July 9, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.W. (Jack) Breeland and Irene Taylor Breeland, his stepmother Dorothy Sweatmon Breeland, and his former wife and mother of his children, JoAnne McElroy Breeland. Lyn is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandra Ware Breeland, his sons and their families: Joe and Susy Breeland, Lyn T. Breeland and Pat and Marina Breeland; his grandchildren who lovingly called him "Papa", Matt (Leslie), Joey (Connelly), Samantha, Emily (Joe), Megan, Evan and Shannon, and was blessed with six great-grandchildren. He loved and is also survived by his sister Betty Breeland Odum, her husband William and son Peter, and Amy and Nick McCarthy. Lyn was a gentle, kind and generous man who loved to make others laugh with his dry wit. A graduate of SMU, he practiced law in Dallas for 40 years. Lyn was an original Cowboys' fan who greatly enjoyed his retirement, football, a good crossword puzzle, traveling with Sandra, long stays on Galveston island, working out at the gym, and his beloved canine companion Max. A man of faith, Lyn was devout with his tithing to charities, especially . A private family celebration in honor of Lyn's life will be held at a later date in Austin.
