Carolyn Chew Carolyn Chew, 88, died June 29, 2018, after a long illness. A permanent resident of Highland Lakes, Vernon, N.J., for over 40 years, she was pre-deceased by husband Dan Chew and was married for 40 years before he died in 1992. Winning numerous art competition awards in the '70s-'80s, they were noted artists in Bergen and Passaic counties and ran Chew Studios out of their home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, Vernon, N.J.
