Alan T. Bowes Beloved husband and father Alan T. Bowes, 82, of Mountainside, N.J., passed away peacefully on July 11, 2018. For 56 years, he was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen Cooney, M.D. He was the loving father of Ted and daughter-in-law, Anna, and brother of Richard. Al received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University, where he was a member of the Crew. He graduated first in his class from NYU Law School. Before retiring in 1996, Alan was a partner in the Intellectual Property law firm of Kenyon and Kenyon, where he specialized in patents, trademark and copyright law. He especially enjoyed consulting with his international clients. Alan had a passion for golf and spent much of his leisure time with family and friends at Baltusrol Golf Club, where he was a member emeritus. Alan had a green thumb and his roses and orchids were legendary. He was a patron of the arts and enjoyed classical music and opera, particularly Verdi. Alan took delight in traveling, especially exploring cultural sites around the world. Services will be private.
