SOKOL, BESSIE C. Bessie Calderon Sokol, born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1921, passed away in Atlanta on July 11, 2018. She was married for 52 years to Morris Sokol who preceded her in 1997. Bessie leaves behind her daughter, Fran Hertz (Steve), and sons, Sid Sokol (Sharon) and Howard Sokol (Dorie). She is survived by her grandchildren: Jeff Hertz (Marci), Darren Hertz (Julie), Robyn Tester (Keith), Ryan Sokol, Seth Sokol and Dr. Randi Sokol and her 5 greatgrand-children: Joshua, Micah, Brandon and Lexi Hertz, Leah Tester. Before her move to Atlanta, Bessie was active in the Jewish community and volunteered with Amit, Hadassah and Temple Beth Tov where she was loved by all. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting. Donations may be made in her memory to Hadassah or Temple Beth Tov Ahavat Shalom.
