Bettye Raider
1934-2018
Bettye Raider passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Tuesday, the 3rd of July 2018. She was born in Broaddus, Texas on the 7th day of May 1934 and was raised in Houston, Texas, where she graduated from Jeff Davis High School. Bettye was the great, great niece of Edwin O. LaGrande who was a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. Bettye was a long time member of Champions Forest Baptist Church, where she volunteered in many functions. Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, Iris and James Nichols. Bettye was survived by her two children, Michael Raider and his wife Pam Raider and Greg Raider and his wife Gail Raider. Bettye had six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several cousins.
A memorial service and celebration of her life is to be conducted at eleven o'clock on Saturday morning, July 14th, 2018, at Champions Forest Baptist Church, Chapel, located at 1555 Stuebner Airline Rd. Houston, Texas, 77069.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bettye Raiders name to Camp Hope.
