CARLETON, Douglas Douglas Jean Carleton, age 94, longtime resident of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018. Doug was born January 10, 1924 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After service in the Army Air Corp in WWII, Doug was employed with Viking Carpet Company for over 25 years. He then owned and operated Carleton Wholesale Flooring, for 10 years in the Dallas area. He was a dedicated member of Lovers Lane UMC, a member of Hella Shrine, and an avid golfer. He enjoyed fishing and "puttering" at his house on Lake Texoma. Family was the focus of his life. Doug is survived by his wife of 30 years, Charlene Carleton (Clark); children, Pamela McSpadden (Vance), Ron Clark (Dianne) and Ellen Clark; grandchildren, James McSpadden (Elizabeth), Austin Clark (Lindsey), Josie Andrews (Michael), and Robert Clark; great grandchildren, Olivette McSpadden-Moran, Julia and Adam Andrews; sister-in-law, Marquita Carleton; niece, Denise Lovelace (Mark), nephew Skip Carleton (Rike) and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Also survived by the McSpadden and Clark Families, who adopted Doug as one of their own. Doug was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Norma Carleton (Troop); parents, Ida and Charles Carleton; brothers Charles and Marvin Carleton; sister-in-law, Ruth Carleton. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, Wesley Chapel, 9200 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75220, with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 PM. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City, OK. Contributions in Doug's memory may be made to or to Lovers Lane UMC.
