He is survived by his parents, Ken and Kathy; by his siblings Jillian (Mark McDaniel), Derek, and Chris; by his niece and nephew Brooklyn and Cameron; and by his grandmothers, Elizabeth Bogel and Nobuko Shiokari. He also leaves behind a large, loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Tom Shiokari (Grandpa) and Kenneth Bogel (Pop-Pop). He is terribly missed today and always.
Andrew was born on the 15th of December, 1998 in Burlingame, California. Growing up in Pacifica, Andrew enjoyed collecting elephants, AYSO soccer, riding bikes and skateboards, as well as participating in Boy Scouts and the many activities at Ocean Shore School. Andrew was a proud Oceana Shark and earned the 2017 Boys Varsity Wrestling Most Valuable Player award. He proudly served his community as a Pacifica Police Explorer. Andrew was silly and head strong, fun loving and scrappy. He loved churros and the Beatles. He had many adults who mentored and advised him and we, his family, are so thankful for all of the love and support that he was given.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 415 El Camino Real, Burlingame on July 16th 2018 at 1:00pm. A gift in memory of Andrew may be made to the Daly City Youth Health Center, 350 90th Street, 3rd Floor, Daly City, CA 94015, www.dalycityyouth.org.
