Anna Ramirez
1934-2018
Our beloved mother, Anna Ramirez, 84, passed away on June 30, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born April 23, 1934 in San Ignacio, TX to Augustina Najera Gutierrez and Filiberto Gutierrez. Anna was a lifelong and founding member of St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church. Her life was guided by her family and her faith. Mom showed her devotion to her church by her participation in numerous church activities. In her later years she enjoyed senior activities especially bingo and casino trips. One of her greatest joys was working in her garden and feeding her birds. There wasn't a plant she didn't like or couldn't grow. Mom was also a faithful Astros fan going as far back to when they were the Colt 45's.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse P. Ramirez and her son, Ruben Ramirez. Her survivors include sons – Jesse P Ramirez, Jr. and wife Yolanda, Miguel (Michael) and wife Rose, Albert and wife Rosalinda, daughter Sylvia Alonzo and husband Rick. Mom is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and finally her beloved dog, Astro who was always by her side. The memories we have of her will always be in our hearts.
Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home located at 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX. Committal service will be Friday, July 6, 2018 at 9:00 am at Houston National Cemetery with the Memorial Mass to follow at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church beginning at 11:00 am located at 9700 Villita St. Houston, TX, 77013, with a reception to follow at the church hall.
