Edith Stephens Boyle  
Of Silver Spring, MD, peacefully passed away on June 25, 2018. Born August 6, 1922, she proudly served the nation in World War II in the Women's Army Corps and through her career in human resources with the US Army. She was an avid gardener and seamstress. In recognition of her dedication to improving the lives of the less fortunate, she was named an honorary life member of Presbyterian Women. She devoted her retirement to service preparing meals for Miriam's Kitchen and workers at Christmas in July events, making hundreds of outfits each year for children at a local Title I school, crafting thousands of Christmas stockings for soldiers and sewing pillows for heart surgery survivors. Edith was the beloved wife of William H. Boyle. She is survived by her children, Pat Boyle Bruner and John Bruner of Chester, VA, Kathleen Boyle of Silver Spring, MD, Howard Boyle of Austin, TX, and Annette Boyle of Peachtree Corners, GA, as well as 11 grandchildren and four great-grandsons. She is also survived by one of her five sisters, Ruth MacGorman of Fort Worth, TX. Interment of her ashes will be at Arlington National Cemetery along with those of her husband, arrangements by Philip Rinaldi Funeral Home in Silver Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Miriam's Kitchen in Washington, DC.
