COBB, Charles Clifton Charles Clifton Cobb, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2018. Charles affectionately known as Charlie, Buddy, or PaPa, was born on August 17, 1934 in St. Louis, MO. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna L. Cobb, fondly known as Tootie who was his "Queen" and the love of his life. Their marriage was a model of commitment and devotion as partners in a full life together. PaPa is also survived by their children Dawn Jones of Dallas, TX and her husband Dr. L. Hollis Jones; Ty Cobb of Collierville, TN and his wife Becky; Guy Cobb of Cordova, TN; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous other family members and friends. Charlie was a veteran who served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was an amazing athlete who excelled at baseball and basketball as a youth and played lots of golf and tennis in retirement. Charlie was a devoted husband and incredible father. PaPa loved his family and was never happier than when they gathered for holidays or special occasions. He was proud of and celebrated the achievements of each and every family member. PaPa could not wait to share the accomplishments of his clan with anyone who would listen. Everyone who knew Charlie loved him. He was one of a kind who made people laugh, smile and feel better about themselves. Charlie's charisma, quick wit, and laugh endeared him to all. He was admired and respected professionally through out an illustrious career in the baking industry. Mr Cobb exemplified success via hard work, grit, doing your best and the right thing, and serving others. Having started as a route salesman for Campbell-Taggart, Charlie rose through the ranks to ultimately serve as president of their commercial bakeries in Jackson, MS and St. Louis, MO. demonstrating that it does not matter where you start but where you finish. His last career stop was in Lakeland, FL where he retired as president of the Country Hearth Bakery. In 2014 he and Tootie moved to Frisco, TX to be closer to family. The family of Charles C. Cobb will honor him at a private memorial service at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on July 3rd. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 7th at Dallas Country Club. His family wishes to thank the incredible staffs at The Tradition Lovers Lane, All Star Hospice, and No Place Like Home, for their love and care on Charlie's behalf.
