Anthony Eugene Feil Jr. Builder of high-performance engines with a storied racing career; inducted into Drag Racing Hall of Fame, 'his family is his greatest design' It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Eugene Feil, Jr. He was 78 years old. Tony passed away on June 27, 2018, in Morristown Medical Center after a fierce battle with endocarditis. He was surrounded by his beloved family. Tony will be dearly missed by all. Please join us in celebrating his life on July 14 at 1 p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church of Hanover, N.J., for a commemorative service. Family and friends are invited to join us in celebration immediately following the service at Green Village Firehouse. Tony was born in Neptune, N.J., to Anthony E. Feil Sr. and Mary E. Feil. His family lived in Easton, Conn., for many years before moving back to New Jersey in 1959. Tony adored his three daughters: Stacy (David), Spicka, Wendy (Michael) Reinknecht, and Mandy (Jay) Kiely. His grandchildren, Emily, Meghan, Ryan, Christopher, Erin, Samantha, Katie, and Casey will miss him dearly. He is also survived by his cherished sister, Mary Ann Morris (Peachtree City, Ga.), brothers, Tom (NYC) and David (Colleyville, Texas), and their families. Tony was a family man known for his beautiful Christmas cards written to his family and extended family every year. Passionate about cars and a highly talented engine builder, designer, and craftsman by trade, Tony built his highly successful business, Tony Feil Competition Engines. His name and reputation are known throughout the country, especially in organizations like the NHRA Drag Racing Hall of Fame and NETO (North East Timing Organization), for which he served as president until his passing. In 2005, Tony was inducted into the Drag Racing Hall of Fame, owing to his renowned racing career. Humble and classy by nature, Tony accumulated an expansive network of lifelong friends along his journey. Tony's passion for music, appreciation for the arts, and love for racing were passed on to his eight beloved grandchildren. He involved himself deeply in all of their lives. He attended countless events, including swim meets, dance competitions, art shows, jazz concerts, graduations, and award presentations, always making sure to be there to support them. He took care to know all of the details of their lives and got to know their friends, endearing himself as a wonderful grandfather ("Pop") to each one of them. His family is his greatest design.
