Albert Barsanti WWII Army veteran cherished time with his nieces and nephews Albert Barsanti, 89, of Orange, N.J., passed away on June 27, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. A funeral ceremony will be offered on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com. Born and raised in Italy, Albert moved to the U.S.A. in 1930. During World War II, he honorably served in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, he was an equipment operator for the City of Orange. Albert was a member of the Orange Elks and, many years prior, the Orange Essex Civic League. Predeceased by his parents, Armando and Ida Barsanti, he is survived by his beloved siblings, Marie Schlosser, Leo Barsanti, and Adele Garafolo. Albert lived with his niece, Renee Lopez and her husband, Carlos, and their children, Carlos Lopez Jr. and Daniel Lopez. He cherished the time he spent with his family and was frequently in the company of his nieces and nephews, Ida Cascio, Amarando Barsanti, Albert Barsanti, and Leo Barsanti.
