CALVIN FREDERICK DAWES, SR.  (Age 71)  
Calvin, a resident of Silver Spring, MD transitioned on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at MedStar, Georgetown University Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Calvin was born on September 9, 1946 in Washington, DC. Predeceased by his parents Calvin E. Dawes and Elaine Gates Dawes Wallace. Calvin received his BA from the University of Maryland and MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Calvin was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and the Montgomery Gentleman. Mourning his loss are a host of loved ones including his wife of 46 years Carolyn Robinson Dawes; son, Calvin Frederick Dawes, Jr.; daughter, Dr. Candice S. Dawes; grandsons, Calvin, III "Tre" and Conner; sister, Norma Birckhead (Lewis); brother, Eric G. Dawes (Eliette); mother-in-law, Viola B. Robinson; sister-in-law, Sharon D. Robinson (Pete) and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends are invited at a memorial service on June 29, 2018 at 12 Noon at Trinity AME Zion Church, 35056 16th St., NW, Washington, DC 20010.
