David Martial Gosselin departed this life June 20, 2018. He was born July 22, 1934 in Donner, Louisiana, the son of Martial Joseph Gosselin and Birdie Undine Boudreux. He graduated as valedictorian from Terrebone High School and earned a scholarship to Louisiana State University. During the summers, he worked for Shell Oil Company as a roustabout to fund the rest of his education. He eventually took a full-time offer upon graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Journalism. Dave served in the U.S. Army as an administrative aide in Wiesbaden, Germany. Upon his return, Dave began his career with Shell where he served in professional and managerial roles. He later became a member of Tennessee Gas Transmission Company serving as vice president of administration and president of TennEcon. He was later named president of Tenneco Energy International. Dave retired in 1996 and enjoyed collecting French antiques and German Biedermeier furniture. He traveled extensively, and his favorite place to visit was Barcelona, Spain. He also enjoyed the companionship of his Polish Lowland Sheepdogs -- Domino and Dominque. Dave was preceded in death by his parents and sister, JoAnne Plessala of Houma, Louisiana. He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie and Alicia, his sons-in-law, Tom and Drew, and three grandsons, Connor, Christopher, and Phillip. Remembrances may be made to the or the Houston SPCA.
