Salt Lake City, UT-David Dahle Benson, age 82, passed away on June 18, 2018 in his home in Salt Lake City. He was born in Newton, Utah on June 4, 1936 to Winona and John Doul Benson. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1959, and was stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska. He returned to the Union Pacific Railroad in 1961. He was the youngest to be promoted to non-union work in the Utah division where he served as an Environmental Engineer over four western states until he retired in 1988. He enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He also loved to spend his free time in Manila, Utah or at PJ's Tavern. Survived by Sister Shirlene Ashmead. Daughters Becky Beagley (Greg Brian) and Suzie Benson White. Grandchildren Valerie Thatcher, David Cody Beagley (Christina Gatlin), Andrew Beagley, and Jordan Davis (Kimberly Murdock). Great Grandchildren Camron Beagley, Colton Beagley, and Jayla Allred. Preceded in death by parents Winona & John Doul Benson. Sister Dixie Hayden, and Brother Ross Benson. The family would like to extend our gratitude to his dearest friends, neighbors, and especially his sweetheart Raya. A Memorial will be held Monday, June 25th at 12 pm at Camp Williams Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park 1711 W. Bluffdale, UT 84065. Interment will follow. A visitation will be held on Sunday Jun 24th from 1-3p at Aspen Funeral 459 W. Universal Cir. (9160 S.) and from 11a-12p on Monday prior to services at Camp Williams, under the care of Wiscombe Memorial.
