Malerich, Catherine A. 8/10/1927 - 6/1/2018. Of Troy, MI, age 90, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018. She was born in Flint to Anna (Cunningham) and Frank Malerich. She received her BA from Michigan State University and her MA from the University of Michigan. She was a teacher for 31 years in several school districts in Oakland County. She was also a founder in 1957 of the University Club of Detroit (now the Catholic Alumni Club of Detroit). She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Alice Hoefer, Elizabeth Goliber, and Frank Malerich, Jr. She will be dearly missed by her nieces, Anne Albertus, Cathy Coleman, Carol Bodiya, and her nephew, Tom Goliber, and many friends. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on June 4 at Christ, Our Light! Catholic Church in Troy, with burial at New Calvary Cemetery, Flint. Arrangements were made by Lynch and Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N Crooks Rd., Clawson MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 48207.
