Carla S. Gardner, age 80, formerly of Winnetka and Lake Forest, IL, passed away on June 12, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick Gardner: loving mother of Michele (Miles), Christopher (Gary), and Matthew (Erin); fond grandmother of Alana and Cara; and a friend to many. Carla was born on September 5, 1937 in East Prussia, Germany. In 1959 she immigrated by boat to the United States where she was welcomed to her new home. She maintained a multicultural view of the world and her many interests included international art, music, books, and food. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
