2 Timothy 4:7-8:
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Allen B. Higgins, Jr., a native Houstonian, was born December 8, 1948; passed away peacefully on May 7, 2018.
Rusty attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Elementary, Pershing Junior High, and graduated from Bellaire High School. He went on to graduate from the University of Houston and then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Rusty made many treasured friends working at Teledyne Exploration, Superior Waterbeds, and finally retiring from Morris Exports. Rusty was an avid outdoorsman and was often referred to as "the life of the party."
He is preceded in death by his father, Allen B. Higgins Sr.; his mother, Jane Higgins; and his wife Sharon Detrick Higgins.
Rusty is survived by his daughters; Christine Carter and Karen Higgins; Christine's husband Marc; and their children, Caroline, Michael, and Matthew; as well as his stepdaughter Danielle Dry and her family.
Please join us in celebrating Rusty Higgins' life on Thursday, May 31st from 5-8 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A mass will be held on Friday, June 1st at 10 am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX 77025 with a light luncheon to follow. There will be a private interment following at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home.
