AKIDA H. JORDAN  August 3, 1975 - May 15, 2018  
Akida Hodari Jordan departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 after a long battle with leukemia in his home in Upper Marlboro, MD. In Swahili, Akida Hodari means "Strong, Successful Leader of Men" and this was a true description of Akida. Akida leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Nicole Greene Jordan; daughters Kiya Jordan (20), Alexis Jordan (7) and her sister Chanelle Tabron (13). His mother, Alpha Jordan; brother Kevin McClain of Salisbury, NC; sister Natalie (Dennis) Rivers of Salisbury, NC and a host of friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father John F. Jordan.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Second Baptist Church, 5501 Silver Hill Road, District Heights, MD 20747. The viewing will begin at 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated will perform their ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to Pope Funeral Home.
