William A. Wiederkehr

September 7, 1931 - May 3, 2018 Bill Wiederkehr gently passed away on May 3, 2018 at home in Carpinteria, CA. He was a native Californian, born at the Presidio in San Francisco to William A. Wiederkehr Sr. and Grace Hansen Wiederkehr. His father was a career Army man stationed at the Presidio when Bill was born. He was raised with his five siblings in the San Gabriel Valley. Bill served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War as a jet engine instructor, teaching at bases in the United States and in China. After serving his country, he went on to graduate from California State University Los Angeles, where he met his future wife Mary C. Grace. They raised their two children in La Canada-Flintridge. Bill enjoyed his graduate work at UCLA and had a successful career in commercial real estate management. He was active in both business and community organizations, including Building Owners and Management Association (BOMA), Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Lions Club, and HELP of Carpinteria. He and Mary traveled to more than 70 countries, and he always looked forward to visiting the next new place. Bill had a wonderful way with people. His humor and wit were enjoyed by family and his many friends. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary; his daughter Mary Grace Gregg and her husband Eric; his son Bill Wiederkehr Jr. and his wife Holly; grandson Evan Gregg; grandson Joshua Wiederkehr; sister Emily Walters; sister Pat Roper and her husband Frank; brother Jim Wiederkehr and his wife Anita; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister Mary Clark and his brother Richard Wiederkehr. Services are private. He had a good life.
