Walters, Alan R., 74, passed away 05/05/2018 unexpectedly at Palmetto General Hospital. Alan was a long time resident of Miami Springs. He is preceded in death by his mother, Miriam Lowndes Walters, father Jacob Philip Walters, Sr. and brother Jacob Philip Walters Jr. Alan relocated to Miami Springs in 1953 as a young boy. Alan loved to tell jokes and stories and always had a kind word for anyone he met. He was affectionately known to his children and grandchildren as Pops. He attended Miami Jackson High where he was on the weigh-lifting team and the football team until joining the American Bowling Congress, bowling was his first love. He was well known as a top rated professional bowler, bowling quite a few perfect games. He worked at Milam's for many years and was loved by his co-workers and customers. Alan was a unique man that was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by wife, Carolyn Joan Walters, sons Wilson Walters (Cassie) and Daniel Walters (Debbie), Niece Suzanne Stevens (Jeff), grandchildren; Bryan, Morgan, Amanda, Nick & Zack, great grandchildren: Bryann, Owen & Aliyah and great nieces Lauren & Lindsay Stevens. A memorial service will be held at Poinciana United Methodist Church, Miami Springs, FL on Saturday, May 12th at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Poinciana United Methodist Church.
