POSTMAN, ALAN L. age 77 of Delray Beach passed away on May 1st. Beloved husband of Laura Postman; Loving father of Barry (Colleen) Postman, Ilysa (Darren) Stupak, Seth Postman, Omar Otero, and Esther Otero; Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Matthew, Sarah, Max, and Carly; Dear brother ofValarie (Jeff) Terk, Richard (Jeannie) Postman, Sheryl Postman, and the late Giose Rimanelli. Alan was born on July 8, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and was honorably discharged. He was a graduate of New York University and then later Brooklyn Law School. He began his legal carer as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City until he moved his family to Miami in 1973 where he served as Assistant Florida State Attorney in the Major Crimes office. Thereafter, he went into private practice handling criminal, civil and family matters. He was elected as Judge for Miami-Dade County in 1992 and served for 12 years. After retiring he served as a mediator, special master and umpire. He will be remembered for his smile, laugh and larger than life personality. Donations may be made to The Parkinson Foundation. Shiva at the Postman residence, 9224 Isle Cay Drive, Delray Beach, Fl. Sunday after the service until 8 pm and Monday from 2 pm to 4 pm.
