Bonnie Lee Housworth
1930-2018
Bonnie Housworth, 88, of Seabrook, Texas, passed away April 15th, 2018. She was born in Berthed, Colorado on March 14th, 1930 to Donald and Thelma Haworth.
Bonnie loved the city of Houston. She moved to Houston with her family as a young child during the depression so her father could find work. Though she moved around within the great state of Texas during her life, she ultimately found her way back to the Houston area after the passing of her husband, Jack Housworth. Bonnie also loved Houston sports, especially the Houston Astros and the Houston Rockets. Bonnie graduated from John H. Reagan High School in the Heights and was very proud to have been a Reagan Red Coat. Bonnie had a very special place in her heart for the University of Houston, where Jack, her daughter and granddaughter all graduated.
Bonnie's greatest joy in life, however, was her family. She jumped at every opportunity to be around the people she cherished and was always the life of the party. She was also everyone's biggest supporter, cheerleader, and confidant. Bonnie was especially proud of her granddaughter Lauren and was thrilled when she graduated from the University of Houston and ecstatic when she received her Masters' degree. Bonnie was delighted when she became a great-grandmother to her step-granddaughters' children and loved it when they called her Dadaw.
Bonnie was also very strong in her faith. She grew up in the Nazarene Church and often joked that no one went to church as much as her family did. They took two buses across town three times a week to attend. Bonnie saw incredible changes and technological advancements in her lifetime, but the one thing that remained constant was her faith and trust in God.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her sisters, Adele Haworth and Donna Gaye Haworth; her daughter, LeAnn Brentzel; and the love of her life, Jack Housworth. Bonnie leaves behind her granddaughter, Lauren Brentzel; son-in-law, Mark Brentzel; step-granddaughter Kasey de Jonckheere, her husband Dave, and their son; step-granddaughter Jaime Ball, her husband Brian, and their two daughters; cousin Roberta LeMaster and her husband Charles; cousin Valerie Coulter; and cousin Camille Bigham and her husband Jim.
