Elizabeth M. Checchio Lifelong Westfield resident, great-grandmother of 12 Elizabeth M. Checchio, 93, of Westfield, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 29, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Mt. Pleasant, N.Y., Elizabeth came to Westfield as a child and was a lifelong resident. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Westfield, followed by entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, N.J. Elizabeth was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield, where she was a member of the Senior Club. She was also a former member of Catholic Daughters. Mrs. Checchio was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fiore J. Checchio, who died in 2012; her grandson, Christopher Rose, who died in 2017; her brother, Thomas Colapietro, and sister, Josephine Baldassarre. She is survived by her children, Frank, Gary and his wife, Diane, Joanna Kielbasa and her fiance, Andy Farina, and Diana Rose. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Christina and Thomas Checchio, Allison Wasserman and her husband, Jared, Jeffrey Checchio and his wife, Addy, John Kielbasa, Richie Kielbasa and his wife, Eleanor, Lenny Kielbasa and his wife, Jenifer, Kevin Kielbasa and his wife, Ondra, Nicole Rose, Jonathan Rose and his wife, Cristin, Laura Brengel and her husband, Greg, Bryan Rose and his wife, Kerri, and Carolynn Rose; and her 12 great-grandchildren, Rylee, Anthony, Lexy, Kailyn, Hayley, Adam, Samantha, Gregory Jr., Paige, Alasondra, Silvio and Brentley.
