Anthony Dean CampbellJanuary 8, 2018Today marks the 48th birthday of Anthony Dean Campbell, who left us four months ago. Anthony passed away at his home, in the early morning hours of January 8, 2018, after a long courageous and tough battle with a chronic illness.

As his good friend, his confidant, his family, and his partner, I had the privilege of spending 12 years with Anthony. We loved, we laughed, we fought, and we cried - making & sharing many great memories together.

Anthony was truly a man's man. Charming, flirtatious, gregarious, with big blue eyes and a beautiful pearly white smile – it's no wonder he received so much love from so many. It is also no wonder I fell for him after that first day we crossed paths in the San Francisco YSL boutique.

I miss him every day.

As a career professional, Anthony was a graduate of Indiana University, with an MHA from the prestigious St Mary's College of California. During a career that spanned over 20 years in the healthcare industry, he most recently was an influential, well-known and accomplished senior executive at Anthem BlueCross in San Francisco. Anthony's sphere of influence reached throughout California - the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Orange County. It was said that Anthony was the heart and soul of his organization.

As a partner and as a friend, Anthony was my shoulder to cry on, my voice of reason, and, as the best-dressed man I ever knew, always had plenty of "fashion advice." For those friends who helped during the times when Anthony struggled with his minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, day-by-day battle with his chronic illness, words cannot express my gratitude for the love you poured upon him.

Monica, you are our angel. You will forever have my gratitude and love.

Anthony, you will always live in my heart. The undeserved struggle you faced, and which you then so very valiantly battled, will always remain an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing your life with me - I will always be your family.

HunBun, you be sure to rest up now. Your next life awaits. It is gonna be great.

I love you, Anthony.
