Sally Tetef Schneider

Faleceu

July 17, 1934 - April 15, 2018 Our beloved Sally passed away from cancer on April 15, 2018. Born Sally Jane Silverberg in Buffalo, NY, in 1934, Sally moved west in 1939 with parents Herbert and Freda and brother Charles and had an idyllic childhood on Longridge Avenue in Sherman Oaks. After attending North Hollywood High, Sally studied at UC Berkeley and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors from UCLA as an English major. She later obtained a Master's degree in Educational Psychology. Sally was loved and adored by many and had a passion for travel, opera, literature, art and music. She was dedicated to helping others and had a prolific career with the LA Unified School District as an elementary school teacher, ESL teacher, adult school counselor and assistant principal. After retiring in 1991, Sally spent 20 rewarding years as a volunteer docent at the Museum of Tolerance. Her rich life experiences provided plentiful material for her colorful memoirs. The most precious thing in Sally's life was family, including her 3 children with first husband Dr. Norman Tetef-Cathy Tetef-Davies, Merry Tetef, and Herbert Tetef-their spouses, 3 grandchildren, her brother Charles Silverberg, sister-in-law Louise and their family, and many dear relatives. In 1989 she remarried to Dr. Stanley Schneider, the love of her life, and the family grew with 4 stepchildren-Mark Schneider, Carol Schneider, Susie Schneider, and Elisa Kleven-their spouses, and 7 grandchildren. Sally will be laid to rest in a private family service at Mount Sinai Mortuary next to her husband, Stan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Museum of Tolerance.
