July 26, 1922 - March 26, 2018 Michie Murakami died on March 26, 2018, in her home after a brief illness. She was preceded in her death by her husband of 71 years, Yoshio Murakami. Michie was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up on a farm in the Lomita area. She and the family were relocated to Tule Lake during the Second World War. After the war she married Yoshio and spent some time in Japan before retuning to live in Los Angeles for the remainder of their lives. Although they never had children of their own, they were loved as second parents to the children of her sister, Eiko, and her husband George Muraoka. Her nephews Kazuo and Jerry, and niece Julie, loved their Auntie Michie and Uncle Yoshio. Michie loved animals and was loved by them in return. She had a caring and considerate nature and could laugh at herself. We will miss her gentle presence in our lives. The graveside Funeral Service will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park; 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, on April 25, 2018 at 12:00noon. Those wishing to make donation can choose any animal rescue group of their choosing.
