Carol M. BertaoOctober 15, 1948-March 11, 2018 Carol Marie Bertao passed away on March 11, 2018 after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Hanford, CA, where she attended public schools. After finishing her schooling there, she moved to the SF Bay Area where she finally settled in San Francisco. She was with Daniel Froloff, her husband, for forty-two years.
It was here that Carol found her true calling: a passion for good design, particularly dealing with home furnishings. In that industry she worked up the ladder to become CEO of a prestigious company making hand-woven window coverings among other products. Eventually, she and two other partners started their own company, where she worked up until she could no longer participate.
Carol found tremendous joy in her life, especially traveling around her own country and other countries as well. She loved her dogs unconditionally and any other dog that came upon her, too. She loved flowers, good food and wine, stylish clothes. We will miss her dearly.
