Alan P. Puleio Devoted family man, former Perth Amboy teacher and business owner Alan P. Puleio, 70, of East Windsor, N.J., passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro in Plainsboro, N.J. Funeral services will begin on Friday, March 16, at 9:30 a.m. at the Glackin/ Saul Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown, N.J. 08520. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Perth Amboy, N.J. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 15, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Glackin/Saul Funeral Home. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Alan resided in East Windsor for 23 years. He was employed by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority as a toll collector for 22 years until retiring in 2011. Prior, he was the owner of the Major League Sports sporting goods store in Perth Amboy for 18 years. Alan also taught for several years at St. Mary's High School in Perth Amboy. Alan enjoyed gardening and was an avid NY Yankees fan. He was a member of the HUBS Club of Perth Amboy since 1969, having been appointed a permanent trustee of the organization. Alan will be remembered for his fine character. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted family man. He was predeceased by his parents, Dominic and Rose (Tanaway) Puleio; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ann and John O'Dowd, and his brother-in-law, Michael O'Dowd. Alan is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Annette T. (O'Dowd) Puleio; his daughters, Brianne and Keri Puleio; his sister, Toni Zaleski-Bromirski and her husband, Thomas; his sisters-in-law and brother-in law, Mary and Arthur Damm, and Margaret Whalen, and his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
