MALONEY Allen V., "Red" (BPD retired Station 11, Dorchester) of Norwood passed away on March 5, 2018 at the age of 88. Cherished and beloved husband of the late Catherine T. (Murphy) Maloney. Loving and Devoted father of Patricia and her husband Richard Hartigan of Weymouth, loving daughter Carol Maloney of Norwood, Kathleen and her husband Jimmy Mawn of Norwood, Margaret Maloney and her husband Dan Davis of NC. and Mary Ellen Maloney and her husband John Ladd of Kensington, CT. Loving Grandfather to Richard and Kara Hartigan of No. Attleboro, Patrick and Carrie Hartigan of Salem NH, Philip Gingras and his fianc Katie Basilotto of Plainville, Daniel and Brendan Gingras of Norwood, Connor, Joshua, and Julia Ladd of Kensington, CT and Great Grandfather to Braden and Rory Hartigan of No. Attleboro. Beloved son of the late Philip and Helena (Smith) Maloney of Newfoundland and Dorchester. Brother of the late James, Joseph, and Philip and his sister Genevieve (Maloney) Deyeso. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Daddy loved Irish music and Irish culture. He was a well-known Irish drummer during the Dudley Street Irish Music era. He was a member of the Boston Irish Social Club of West Roxbury and The Norwood Irish Music Club. Daddy had an ole time saying "When you think of me keep in mind a real true friend is hard to find." Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. NORWOOD, Friday March 9, 2018 at 8am followed by a funeral mass at 9am in St. Catherine of Siena Church Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 5-8pm. Burial will be at Mt. Benedict Cemetery Boston, MA.
