WILSON, ALAN ROBERT, 27yr resident of Miami Lakes, passed away Thursday, February 1st. He was 71. Born in Lynn, Mass. to Albert R & Mary Rita (Doucette) Wilson. Raised in Newburyport, Mass. area & graduated NHS c/o'64. A retired Engineer, who spent many years traveling the U.S. & South America, leading repair/ rebuilding crews servicing large hydroelectric power generation stations, i.e. Hoover Dam &Niagara Falls. He was an avid sailor, licensed USCG Captain, & cooking enthusiast who loved to entertain at home or on board "Imagine" at Dinner Key Marina (Coconut Grove), where he & his wife made friendships to last a lifetime. Many of his happiest moments were spent with friends at The Keys, Abaco's, Bimini & other Bahamian islands. He enjoyed going back to New England to get together with his family & lifelong friends. Cooking was a passion of his.Everyone looked forward to his famous biscotti. Alan's grandchildren Ethan, Gabriel, Luke, and Lauren, were the pride &joy of his life. Alan's kind spirit, passion for knowledge & zest for life lives on in them. He is survived by his wife/best friend of 21 years Martha; stepdaughters Michelle (Milton), Jennifer (Jorge); brothers Richard & Wayne: sisters Mary, Kathleen &Michelle, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews & friends. He's predeceased by brother Daniel.
