Allen Jacobson Past president of appliance store Allen Jacobson, 73, past president of Jacobson's Appliances which was established in 1949, by his father, passed peacefully in his sleep early Monday morning on Feb. 26, 2018, after a long bout with cancer. His funeral service will be at Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vauxhall Rd., Union (Vauxhall), N.J., on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at 1 p.m. Allen joined his family business after graduating from Jefferson High School in 1963. His business career was interrupted by a 2-year stint in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. He received an honorable discharge in 1973, as a buck sergeant and resumed his employment in 1969. Allen became president in 1986. His wife of 47 years predeceased him last year. Allen is survived by his loving family.
