Alice Boggs Longtime Montclair resident Alice Boggs, 97, of Montclair, N.J., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018. Viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at St. Paul's Baptist Church, 119 Elm St., Montclair. A funeral service will begin at 12 noon, followed by interment at Rosedale Cemetery, Montclair. Born in Statham, Ga,, on Nov. 8, 1920, to Mattie and Emory Stephens, Alice moved to Montclair in 1939, and married Willie Nathaniel Boggs, deceased, on Sept. 26, 1940. Alice leaves to mourn her loss her son, Otis (Glenna); daughters, Linda and Gail; niece/daughter, Louella Walker (Melvin); four grandchildren, Lisa Boggs-Layton (Stewart), Jason (Sharda), Willie and Mattie Larson; two great-grandchildren, Torry and Kyndall; sisters-in-law, Mary Boggs and Betty Stephens, and brother-in-law, Booker T. Boggs, as well as multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Alice was predeceased by daughter, Patricia; sisters, Ivy and Lucille, and brothers, Lucious and Donald.
