Alberto DitoAlberto Dito passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was 91. Born in Verbicaro, Italy to parents Vincenzo Dito and Maria Francesca Lucia, he came to San Francisco in 1970 with his wife and two children. He worked for Sunset Scavenger for 20 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed working in his garden and being a member of the Crocker-Amazon Bocce Ball Club. In the 1990s, his bocce playing earned him the star role of a national Maxwell House Coffee commercial. He adored his grandkids and great-grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Peppino, Giuseppina, and Antonio. His wife, Rosina, passed away in 2002. He is survived by his sister, Angelina; children: Vincenzo (Rina), Grazia Ruggiero (Rosario); grandchildren: Alberto (Dana), Marco (Theresa), Cristina Ragni (Michael), Angela; and great-grandchildren: Enzo, Gemma, Giovanni, Rocco, Mila and Aria.
All are invited to attend a Vigil Service on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 1:15pm followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30pm at Church of the Epiphany, 827 Vienna St., SF. Burial to follow at Italian Cemetery, Colma. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to .
