Tim Russell JungNovember 16, 1939 - February 2, 2018Tim Russell Jung passed away suddenly on February 2, 2018, after a 2 year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving daughter, Gabrielle Jung; son-in-law, Paul Escalante; grandchildren, Erica Escalante, Kianna Escalante and Justin Escalante; and siblings, Ed Jung and Eleanor Gee. Tim is preceded in death by his wife LaVerne; father, Edmund and mother, Mable.
Tim will always be remembered for his love of playing tennis every weekend. He was fun loving and was known for giving those he liked personal nick names. He will be known for the stories he shared of growing up in San Francisco and for his ability to make people laugh.
He was 78 years old. His career for over thirty years was in the food service industry and included owning a Chinese restaurant and sandwich shop in the San Francisco financial district. His second career was in the retail industry where he worked up until the age of 75, when he retired from Nieman Marcus.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tim's life on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Greer Family Mortuary and Cremation Services, 2694, Blanding Ave., Alameda. Services will begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception.
