KIEL, ALICE JANE WOLF the first person to put toilet paper advertising on TV when they weren't sure the public would accept it, died on February 5, 2018. She was 92. Until the very end, Alice remained loyal to friends from school, and many others. Born in Canton, OH on March 16, 1925 to Albert Wolf and Catherine Prudent, Alice's early years were spent in Tampa. She moved to NYC as a teen and attended George Washington High School. Alice then did a year of war work at the Brooklyn Navy Yard as a draftswoman in the electrical dept. on the plans for the USS Missouri. Upon graduation from Miami Univ. in Oxford, OH, Alice moved to Miami, FL, where she worked for an art, advertising and photography studio, was the beginning of her career in advertising. Alice returned to NY and had an extremely successful career as a Senior Media Buyer specializing in TV& Radio with several major ad agencies, including N.W. Ayer; J. Walter Thompson; Grey Advertising; and Burke Dowling Adams. In addition to Scott Paper, her clients included United Airlines, Johnson & Johnson, Breck Hair Products, Delta Airlines, Chock Full O'Nuts, Buitoni Foods and Ford. She handled original TV shows such as "Omnibus," "My Little Margie," and "Father Knows Best." She was recognized by "Who's Who in American Women" and was an early member of American Women in Radio and TV. She married Seymour Kiel, a TV ad executive and settled in Phila., where her daughter Catherine was raised. Her greatest joy was being a mother. Alice moved to Coral Gables in 1985. She worked for the International Fine Arts Collegeand the Box Offices of the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts and the New World Symphony. Alice was recently honored for her war work by the Honor Flight Org. on the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor. She was a member of the Miami Woman's Club and an active parishioner at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Coral Gables, where services will be held on Thurs., Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. She is survived by her daughter Catherine, her nephew Jay, and her grandcats, Chanel and Valentino.
