Alan Monk Lynn passed away in Independence, Missouri, on January 27, 2018 of heart failure at the age of 67. Alan was born in Laramie, Wyoming on November 2, 1950 to Roita Monk and Wayne Bender Lynn. He was the oldest of 11 children. He graduated from Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona. He served a mission for the in The Great Australia West Mission. He later married Donna Elaine Meng and added four children to their family. They later divorced.
Alan was interested in mechanics. He flew a plane solo and was very capable with computers. He liked to write and was creative and was interested in knowledge in general. He spent the last years of his life as a computer technician.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Roita, a brother, Curtis Wayne Lynn as well as a granddaughter, Katrina Celeste and grandson, James Charles.
He is survived by 4 children Scott LaVar (Loretta), Tressa Ann Cates, Curtis Alan, and Derrick Wade Lynn He is survived by his father, Wayne Bender, and his siblings, Kenneth Ivin, Kathy Allen, Douglas Jerry, Michael Jon (Elaine) Debbie Randall (Fred), Judy (John) Steiner, Dee Wayne, Melvin Charles (Kristy), and Renee. He is survived by three grandsons, Benjamin Daniel, Griffin Armadeus, and Xavier Charles.
A visitation in Utah will be held at the Centerville 19th Ward Building at 900 South 400 East in Centerville, Utah on February 10, 2018 from 10-11a.m. A family memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
