Alfred G. Osterweil Attorney who loved his family and practicing law, 86 Alfred G. Osterweil, 86, of Summit, N.Y., and Many, La., passed away on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018. Mr. Osterweil was born in Newark, N.J., of Freida Gerber Lane and Jack Osterweil. After graduating from Rutgers Law School and serving in the Army, he established his law offices in Edgewater, N.J. He loved the law and the practice of law, and appreciated the large and small moments of his life. He was caring, generous, humble, and funny. Most of all, he loved his family. Mr. Osterweil is survived by his adored wife, Cynthia Rollenhagen Osterweil; his beloved daughter, Marla (Gene) Collins of Westfield, N.J., and two grandsons in whom he took great joy, Brent (Whitney) Hewitt of Durham, N.C., and Eric Hewitt of Los Angeles. He will be greatly missed by many people. A burial service in Summit, N.Y., and a memorial service in New Jersey will be held in the spring.
