October 16, 1936 - January 15, 2018 Akio Idemoto born in Salinas, CA on October 16 to Kenji and Fujiye Idemoto has passed away on January 15 at the Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, CA due to complications of cancer. He is survived by his three sons Jon, Roger (Sai) and Michael and two grandchildren Shina and Iris. Akio's wife Kay predeceased him in 2003. He is also survived by his companion and friend for the past 10 years Kristin Okimoto, and by his sister Mary Iwami, brothers Kunio (Aggie) and Tom (Miyo) Idemoto and many relatives. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10 at 11 am at the Watsonville Buddhist Temple, 423 Bridge Street, Watsonville, CA 95176. Burial service will be held the following day.
