Ann M. Harris Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt Ann M. Harris (nee Nigro) 94, of Union, N.J., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Dec. 29, 2017, at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Elizabeth, N.J. Ann is the last surviving member of Peterstown's Nigro family. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral at the Corsentino Home For Funerals, 620 Second Ave., corner of John St., Elizabeth, on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 8:45 a.m., thence to St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Elizabeth, where at 10 a.m. a Funeral Mass will be offered. Viewing is Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment is at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, N.J. Ann was born on Sept. 6, 1923, to Frank and Anna Nigro. She was raised in Elizabeth and graduated from Battin High School. After graduation, she attended Drake Business School. Ann married the love of her life, Russell M. Harris, on Aug. 29, 1943. After Russell's discharge from the Navy, they lived in Linden, N.J., Roselle Park, N.J., and the Peterstown section of Elizabeth, before moving to Berkeley Heights, N.J., in 2014. In September of this year, Ann moved to the home of her daughter, Kathleen Brophy. Ann was extremely loving and very proud of her family. She was a member of the Saint Ann Rosary Society at Saint Anthony's Church, the Disabled American Veterans Women's Auxiliary, Saint Anthony's Retired Men and Women's Club, and the Peterstown Senior Citizens Club. She was also a Eucharistic minister at Saint Anthony's Church. A devoted and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (George) Brophy of Union, N.J.; son-in-law, Victor Guidetti II of Berkeley Heights; daughter-in-law, Debbie Harris of Elizabeth; cherished grandchildren, Stefani Guidetti, Lisa Guidetti, Michael (Wendy) Guidetti, Mark (Jennifer) Guidetti, Kelly Ann Harris (Brendan Heffernan), Russell M. Harris II (Laura), Matthew Harris, Allan (Lisa) Brophy, George (Melissa) Brophy, Michael Brophy and April Brophy; 17 great-grandchildren she adored, and many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews. Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband, Russell M. Harris; her loving son, Russell "Rusty" Harris; loving daughter, Patricia Guidetti, grandson, Victor Guidetti III; sisters, Mary DePalma, Edith D'Antico and Angelina Gallaso; brothers, Americo (Duke) Nigro, Michael Nigro, Frank Nigro, Angelo Nigro, and Joseph Nigro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ann's memory to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, Tenn. 38105 or North Jersey, 44 Middle Ave., Summit, N.J. 07901. "We won't memorialize you in the stars because they fade away. We won't remember you with a poem because it will be forgotten one day. We will just keep you safely in our hearts so that you are with us every day."
