Alan Blandamer died peacefully, December 16, 2017 in Gaithersburg MD. Alan was born on June 2, 1937 in Weymouth, Dorset, England to Douglas and Hilda Blandamer. He graduated from the University of Southampton with doctoral degree in Biochemistry in 1962. After graduation, Alan immigrated to New York City where he met his wife, Ann; they were married in Washington, DC in April of 1963. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and love of soccer and travel. Alan had a lifelong passion for jazz. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann; two sons Gary and Chris; two daughters-in-law, Karen and Kearney; and four grandchildren, John, Anna, Charlie and Callie. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 6030 Grosvenor Lane, Bethesda MD 20814 on Friday, January 5 at 11 a.m. A remembrance reception will follow immediately in the hall of the church.
