Ann Rita (Murphy) Anderson

Ann Anderson, wife, mother and friend passed away on December 7th in her sleep after a bout with cancer. A former Sacramento area resident, Ann moved to Burien in 2003 with her daughter and son-in-law. She was active in her church, where she met many new friends, while retaining many friendships in the Sacramento area. Ann was a Registered Nurse and worked as an emergency room nurse for many years before becoming a school nurse and a counselor in Sacramento. Ann loved to camp, water ski and be with friends and family. Later in Burien, she loved to travel, go into Seattle for the symphony and plays, and join her friends in a swim group. Ann was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Eugene and Catherine Murphy. She had seven brothers and sisters and was raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lowell, sister Rose DiMauro and brothers John and Edward Murphy. She is survived by her daughter Catherine Ann Campbell (Tim) of Burien, WA; her son Robert Lowell Anderson (Julie) of Loomis, CA; 3 grandchildren Jillian Zwerdling, Megan Lohnash and Robert Anderson; and 4 sisters Agnes Bunce, Catherine Burkhard, Mary Powers and Julia Melick. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 15226 21st Ave SW, Burien, WA on Saturday, March 17 at 1:00 pm, followed by a reception at the church. Internment at Lakeside Cemetery in Folsom, CA on Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 am.
