(Elaine) Knister of Napa; sister, Kate Zook of Sparks, NV; brother-in-law, Charles (Eileen) Harley of Fullerton; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ann was predeceased by her brother-in-law Phil Zook. Ann was born the youngest of three on July 27, 1958 in Appleton, WI. After stops in Glenview, IL, and Phoenix, AZ, Ann's family settled in Fullerton, CA, in 1965. Ann attended Troy High School in Fullerton, and graduated with honors from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Nutritional Science. Ann married the love of her life, Michael, in Fullerton in 1982. They bought their first home in San Clemente in 1985, where they raised their two girls. Ann worked passionately as a laboratory director at SOCWA until her retirement in 2013. Ann enjoyed camping across the western United States - especially the Eastern Sierras, walking her German Shepherds, visiting National Parks, cooking, reading, gardening, and quilting for family members. Above all, Ann enjoyed spending time with her family. Ann's family and friends will always remember her for her kind, gentle, and giving nature. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. A memorial service for Ann will be held at Palisades United Methodist Church, 27002 Camino de Estrella, Capistrano Beach, CA 92624 on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 11:00AM with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ann's life. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Avondale Family Care Home and the nurses at Care Choices Hospice for the love, compassion, and care they provided for Ann through this most difficult time.
