Allan H. Sampson Beloved father, grandfather, Navy veteran and Berkeley Heights school custodian Allan H. Sampson, 88, of Berkeley Heights, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, N.J., on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 from 2 to 6 p.m. A Mass will be offered at the Church of the Little Flower, Berkeley Heights, N.J., on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at 10 a.m., followed by the interment at St. Mary Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung, N.J. For directions or to send the family condolences please visit, ippolitofuneralhomes.com. Allan was born and raised in Summit, N.J., and lived in Berkeley Heights for nearly 60 years. Mr. Sampson served in the US Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier. He was a presser in Newark, N.J., before joining the custodial staff at the Berkeley Heights school system in 1978, before retiring from Woodruff School as head custodian in 1999. Mr. Sampson was the beloved husband of the late Angela (nee DelDuca) Sampson; the loving father of Allan Sampson (wife Terri) of Long Valley, N.J.; Scott Sampson (wife Lori) of Berkeley Heights, and Janice Sampson of Westfield, N.J.; dear brother of Joan Sampson Sterrett, Kenneth Sampson, Judith Sampson Strauss; cherished grandfather of Lauren (nee Sampson) Coloma, Erica, Gregory and Krista Sampson, and adored great-grandfather of Lorenzo Coloma. He was predeceased by his brother, Roger Sampson.
