Benjamin "jack" Winslow

Faleceu

1931 ~ 2017
On the evening of November 25, Jack suddenly departed this earth for a better place. The Lord called him home and he went.
Jack was born in North Carolina to Joseph and Sybil Elizabeth Winslow in 1931. He spent part of his childhood in the Methodist Home for Children Orphanage where he met many lifelong friends. He enlisted in the US Navy and served on an aircraft carrier during the Korean War. While in the Navy, he met his future bride, Alberta "Bert" in Vancouver, BC, Canada. They married in 1955. He worked as a fireman and later became self employed in the fire suppression industry. He was a proud Mason and Shriner and belonged to the Progress Lodge and El Kalah Shrine. He recently received his 50 year membership pin in his Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother and two sisters. He is survived by his two daughters, Jackie (Rob) Hibbard and Barbara (Stephen) Hiatt, grandchildren, Anna and Julia Hibbard, Alex and Zanny Hiatt. Sister Sarah Forsland and Sister-in-Law Marie Winslow as well as numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends.
He loved all of his family and friends very much. He was always telling jokes and was a lifelong prankster. He could often be found tinkering in his shop "whistling while he worked". He was industrious, creative and artistic and always had some kind of project going even up until the end.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 11:00 am at Mount Olivet Cemetery 1342 E. 500 S. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 17 from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Cottonwood Country Club 1780 E. Lakewood Dr. Holladay, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the or the Methodist Home for Children in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Many thanks to the South Salt Lake Paramedics and St Mark's Hospital ER and ICU Staff for their valiant efforts and kind compassion. Also thanks to his many caregivers through the VA Healthcare system and his dear neighbor, Boyd as well as many friends who have been there for us throughout the years. Many thanks to Dad's angel (you know who you are) who selflessly helped Dad through thick and thin.
