Alice June Boyden Kenilworth resident since her 20s, 'selfless mother and friend,' hospital volunteer, 82 Alice June Boyden (nee Errington), 82, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at Morristown Medical Center after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Until the end, Alice was concerned about and cared for the needs of others before her own. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service in the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, N.J., on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at 11 a.m. Please be at the funeral home by 10 a.m. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Interment will be private. For online condolences to the family, visit mastapeterfuneralhome.com Alice was born in Orange, N.J., raised in Maplewood, N.J., and resided in Kenilworth, N.J., for the past 62 years. She worked for the family business, Errington Tool Mfg. Co., as a secretary before leaving to raise her family. In later years, she was employed by Manpower and was named the company's "Secretary of the Year." She was a selfless, devoted mother and friend. She will always be greatly admired and loved by her family and many others whose lives have been touched by her extraordinary kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity. Alice volunteered for many years at Union Hospital, Overlook Medical Center, Hospice and the Kenilworth Historical Society. Alice enjoyed traveling, going out to dinner, flea markets and spending time with her family at the Jersey shore. Alice was predeceased by her beloved parents, Ralph S. and Frieda A. (nee Waechter) Errington, and two brothers, Raymond George Errington and Ralph William Errington. Surviving are two devoted children who will cherish her memory, Shirley J. Boyden Maxwell (Robert) and George Stephen Boyden (Carol); two adored grandchildren, Dawn Melissa Boyden Horling (Blaze) and Jesse Stephen Boyden; two cherished great-grandchildren, Shane Stephen Horling and Emma Isabel Horling, and many wonderful friends.
