"Together Again"
SLC, UT -Rosella at the age of 88 passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, due to complications related to age joining her beloved sweetheart and daughter who both passed away earlier this year. She was born September 21, 1929 in Salt Lake City, UT to Elwood and Elizabeth Winters. She grew up in very pleasant circumstances with her brothers Dick and John and sisters Jane, Nell and Mary Ann on "D" Street which was made famous for soft serve ice cream, Nana rolls and earn your Halloween candy games. She graduated from East High School and then the University of Utah with a degree in Elementary Education. She found employment as an assistant to Dr. Henry Eyring, then Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Utah. On April 30, 1954, she married her sweetheart and eternal companion Nick Stolk, "that Dutchman from Rotterdam", son of Daniel and Jannigje Stolk. Theirs was a love story that will last into the eternities. Family, friends, church and travel were their passions.
Their posterity continues to grow with 3 children, 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way. Rosella met each day with a smile on her face and love in her heart no matter what she was going through in life. Her quiet strength and positive attitude touched all she came in contact with. Count your years with smiles, not tears. Count your blessings, not your troubles. Count your age by friends, not years! We love you and we miss you!! Till we meet again!!!
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Olympus 2nd Ward, 3070 East Nila Way, Salt Lake City, UT, beginning at 1 PM.
