Jean Scott, nee Miller, 96, passed away Jan. 23, 2018 in Evanston, IL. She was born Jan. 27, 1921 in Omaha, NE. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd William Scott; loving mother of Joan Scott DeVries (Raymond) and the late Robert William Scott; caring daughter of the late H. Robert and Lillie Adele Miller; sister of the late Robert Miller. Jean attended Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids, IA, graduating in 1939. She graudated from Iowa State College (now University) in Ames, IA in 1943 with a BS in Dietetics. She was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi. After graduation, Jean was employed by Libby Foods during World War II. After qualifying as an IRS enrolled agent in the 1970s, she and partner Frances Benson opened Benson-Scott Accounting in Winnetka, which specialized in business and personal income tax preparation. Jean was a longtime member of Winnetka Presbyterian Church, an avid bridge player and world-wide traveler. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held April 24, 2018 at 10:30 am at Winnetka Presbyterian Church, 1255 Willow Rd, Winnetka, IL; private burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha, NE.
